Founded in the peak of Covid -19, Simone was overwhelmed by the deaths. As the year ended, there had been more than 346,000 fatalities and 20 million SARS-CoV-2 infections in the country. In total, there were 83,832,334 cases and 1,824,590 deaths. In the weeks following Thanksgiving, we saw a resurgence of cases in some areas of the nation. Many of our homeless population lacked shelter, protection, or someone to advocate for them. Thoughts and plans to actively participate in change flooded her mind and heart.
